We’re very excited to announce an upcoming Perry Outreach Program on Saturday, May 16th at Louisiana State University in Shreveport in Shreveport, LA. The Perry Outreach Program is a free, one-day, hands-on experience to encourage youth to pursue careers in medicine and engineering. Students will hear from  leaders in these fields and try it for themselves by performing mock orthopaedic surgeries and biomechanics experiments.

We are currently seeking applicants for our FREE program in Shreveport, LA. Participants should be in high school with a passion for science, medicine, and/or engineering. Applicants should fill out our online application in advance of the the April 19 application deadline.

The Perry Initiative
At The Perry Initiative, we are committed to building the talent pipeline in the fields of orthopaedic surgery and engineering, two fields in need of innovative thinkers and problem solvers. We advance our mission by targeting high school and medical school students through our outreach programs, providing them with hands-on exposure to these fields and connecting them with leaders in the fields of orthopaedic surgery and engineering. Our in-classroom curriculum presents STEM concepts through real-world orthopaedics challenges, introducing orthopaedics & engineering to middle and high school students and sparking early career interest.
